Congratulations to Laurie Guy for winning Victoria’s pre-season 9-end singles competition today. Laurie looked convincing throughout with 3 good wins as top qualifier, then beating Kay Carr 10-4, and Geoff Walters 8-3 in the playoffs. Good form going into the singles berth for Premier Interclub next week! Geoff edged out Tanya Wheeler (Eastbourne) in the other semifinal 8-6.
Weather was surprisingly good with sunny conditions throughout the afternoon, and the players appreciated a bountiful afternoon tea, nicely paced greens and good hospitality.
The next 9-end singles will be on February 6th Waitangi Day…
