Well done Premier Womens Interclub team!

In an incredible display the Victoria Premier Womens Interclub team have won the finals play-off day with a round to spare!  The team of Lisa White (singles); Nicole Toomey and Leigh Griffin (pairs); and Sarah Taukamo, Nina De Munnik, Kay Carr and Helen King (fours) won all of their six matches including four bonus points leaving the rest of the field in their wake. Massey Avenue had three wins but no bonus points and a wopping 111 shots differential behind Victoria. Last season’s National Interclub champions Johsonville will not be defending their title finishing third. The Victoria team will play in the Regional Interclub playoffs on 1st March in Wellington.

The Men’s team of Laurie Guy (singles); Tim Toomey and Raymond Martin (pairs); and Alf De Munnik, Barry O’Brien, Roy Gibb and Lou Newman (fours) finished second behind Stokes Valley with a credible five wins out of eight games with the last fours uncompleted.

Stokes Valley and Victoria consolidate their positions at the top of the unofficial men’s Bowls Wellington Club of the Year standings, and Victoria surges further ahead of Petone Central in the women’s.
