Well done to Nicole and Tim Toomey for reaching the semifinals of the Womens and Mens Wellington Champ of Champ Junior Singles respectively at the weekend. Nicole went down to the eventual winner Kylee Matenga (Wainuiomata) 21-13 at the Petone Central club but picked up an influential result for the Womens Club of the Year competition in the quarterfinal knocking over Johnsonville’s representative denying them any points for this tournament and picking up 2 for Victoria.
Tim lost his semifinal at almost the exact same time at the Park Avenue to the local knowledge of Ralph Vulu 21-14. Vulu, however, was knocked over in the final by Victoria member Rhys Hakkens playing his Junior Singles out of the Wilton club 21-8.
