Congratulations to the Premier Womens team who have taken the Centennial Challenge Cup off Silverstream on the opening day of Wellington interclub. The fours and pairs teams won while Lisa White had a great match against Clare McCaul but dipped out 25-22.
This begins the Victoria womens team’s 4th tenure as Challenge Cup holders whereas no other club has held the Cup more than twice since its inception in 2006.
It was an impressive start to interclub with the Premier Mens team giving perennial rivals Johnsonville a bit of a hiding and a great three wins to the new Premier Reserve Womens team which included 1st year players as lead and second in the four, and an all-junior pair.
