Congratulations to Mark Noble for coming runner-up in the Wellington Champ of Champ Singles last weekend at Upper Hutt. Mark came through a tough draw dispatching Jimmy Madden (Eastbourne), Brent Stubbins (Johnsonville) and Sar Alefosio (Naenae) but could not quite repeat against Seamus Curtain (Stokes Valley) going down 17-21 in the final. Mark was the only opponent to get to double figures against Seamus in a see-saw 26-end final.
The final echoes the overall positions in the Wellington Men’s Club of the Year standings with Victoria now second behind Stokes Valley.
