Invitation Pairs washed out

For the second time in its history the Speight’s Victoria Invitation 2-4-2 Pairs was abandoned today with persistent overnight and morning heavy rain making it impossible to attempt preparation of the greens. Division 1 and 2 money was shared out between the 8 teams in each Division.

Tournament control did very well to get through three shortened games on the Saturday. Many late pullouts, travel disruptions and rain during the middle of the day made for trying conditions. Last year’s champions Robbie Bird and Jayden Ravji had time to show they were no flash in the pan beating 5 time champion Gary Lawson playing with Justin Goodwin by 9 shots.
