Great work from Bradley Down picking up two club titles in his first season playing club champs at Victoria, and going on to reach the quarterfinal of the Wellington Champ of Champ fours last week (which equalled the furtherest he had been in a Wellington senior event), and winning the Champ of Champ singles this week.
17 year old Bradley proved too good for Gavin McLeod (Tawa) in the final at Johnsonville on Sunday posting a 21-14 victory. He had been up 17-5 at one stage before a fightback from Gavin.
The semifinal against Brent Stubbins (Lyall Bay) was a very tight affair and came down to an umpire’s measure with both players confident they had shot at 19-19 and time limit reached.
Brad has won the Wellington 1-10 year Development Pairs and the Champ of Champ Junior Singles in previous seasons for Plimmerton.
