Congratulations to Leigh Griffin in winning the Wellington Champion of Champion Singles for the third time. Leigh had to come through a number of close games at the Plimmerton club over the weekend, but time and again showed her skill in applying pressure on the opponent over the final few ends. Leigh won the final over Robyn Fitzgerald (Naenae) 21-17 to claim her 22nd Wellington title dedicating the win to daughter Kirsten on her 21st birthday.
Leigh is now only 12 Champ of champ singles titles short of Judy Howat… 15 centre titles in the same event must be a national record surely!!
