Well done Lisa, Kirsten & Leigh!

Lisa White, and Kirsten and Leigh Griffin retained their Wellington Champ of Champ Triples title picking up Victoria’s 6th Wellington title of the season when they beat Wilton 16-15 in a tense final at Park Avenue. The big story came in their semfinal when they came back from 4-16 down to beat Petone Central 22-19. This was Lisa’s second title of the season after also winning the Open Pairs.

And a Victoria double act is still possible for the third time this season as the mens team of Laurie Guy, Wayne Coleman and Lou Newman survived a dramatic semfinal over Stokes Valley to make the final. They will play Wilton on a date to be determined after weather did not allow any matches to be completed on Saturday and a change of HQ for the Sunday. Some miraculous driving from the Stokes Valley skip Mark Geerlings meant Lou needed to draw the winning shot which also had significant implications on the mens Club of the Year standings.

Well done Nic!

Nicole Toomey won the Regional Secondary Schools Singles play-offs in Wanganui and will play in the national finals in Christchurch in December. Nic represents St. Mary’s College.

Well done Helen!

Helen King put in a very creditable performance winning 4 matches out of 5 games to come runner-up in the National Club (Pathways) Singles finals at the Naenae club. Helen beat the eventual winner Wynette McGlachlan (South Otago) but lost out on the title on differential.
