Well done Tim!

Tim Toomey won the Regional Secondary Schools singles at the Johnsonville club in a tough final against Euan Wong from Petone Central 14-7. One end was killed 7 times! Tim will play in the national secondary schools finals in December in that great nursery of NZ bowls – Dunedin!

Nicole Toomey came third in the girls singles going down in the semifinal by 1 shot. Nicole is first emergency if one of the finalists cannot go to Dunners.

Well done Kirsten, Lisa & Leigh!

Its a late gold rush for Victoria this season with Kirsten Griffin, Lisa White and Leigh Griffin picking up our second centre title in three weeks winning the Wellington Champ-of-champ Triples. The girls were in great form winning the semifinal 22-9 against Silverstream and the final 23-9 over Woburn to take the championship.

Well done Dave!

Well done and welcome home for the next week or so for Dave Pascoe who has passed his Navy recruit course. I know from personal experience how hard the culture shock can be, particularly in the first few weeks and it takes a lot of willpower to get through it. The NZDF can give you experiences no civilian would ever get to see and do, so good luck with the rest of your career… and don’t get into too much trouble!
