Well done Leigh and Kirsten!

Leigh and Kirsten Griffin went oh so close to retaining their Wellington Open Pairs title at the Wilton club going down 16-15 in a cliffhanger bowl-for-bowl repeat of last year’s final. The play was of a very high standard from all four players and a great lead-up for Kirsten for the Trans Tasman this coming weekend in Auckland, and Leigh for the Regional Interclub play-offs at Naenae.
Earlier Leigh and Kirsten beat Mandy Boyd playing with her sister Angela out of the Taradale club in the quarterfinals. Hayley May and Janice McKenna, and Wayne Coleman and Barry O’Brien were also quarterfinalists in the womens and mens events respectively.
